Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books in total, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
